Appointments
Consultations are by appointment only.
It does help to present the Doctor with one problem at each consultation rather than saving them up. We do try and keep to time with our appointments but on occasion delays are unavoidable. You will be notified if this occurs.
An appointment is for one person only - always book a separate appointment for any other members of your family who wish to see the doctor.
Please let us know if you are unable to attend a booked appointment as soon as possible because even at short notice the appointment may be offered to another patient.
Urgent Appointments
We have allocated emergency appointments which are available on the day. These are only to be used for medical emergencies, something that cannot wait for a routine appointment.
Chaperones
During intimate examination you are entitled to ask for a chaperone to be present.
Students
We are actively involved in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students who are attached to our practice for periods throughout the year. We feel the training of these students is an important part of ensuring the future of General Practice and the NHS. You should always be asked if you are happy for a student to be present during your consultation. If you do not feel comfortable with this they will be asked to leave. Any decision regarding the presence of students will in no way adversely affect your care.
